Description
There have been numerous kinds of competitions held on the Madison St. trail, a.k.a. The Switchbacks. Naked holding hands, tight slalom cones, one-push-only, uphill, and now the wildest format yet: ten-at-a-time. J.P. Rowan is a sadistic organizer with a tough-love for his fellow longboarders. He reveled in the scrapes of all the kneepad-clad children that were defeated by their merciless elders like Chip Wood.
The race was held on the 8th of January which was a surprisingly beautiful day. Although, J.P. the Salty Dog did do one kind thing for the Switchback'rs, he cut out Billy Meiners and Casey Morrow by forcing them to ride switch. Now that Robyn McGuirk, owner of Eastside Longboards, won J.P. claims he will be forced to skate switch from now on too. The race was free to anyone who wanted to enter and will be held again in March. Check out pdxdownhill.com for details.
